Science Communication Seminar at Maya Schools Anatolian and Science & Technology High School
Maya Schools Anatolian and Science & Technology High School in Ankara hosted a special academic event featuring Dr. İsmail Uyanık, a faculty member at Hacettepe University Neurolab (Center for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology). Dr. Uyanık delivered a seminar titled “Science Communication” to students, focusing on the importance of effectively sharing scientific knowledge with society.
During the seminar, Dr. Uyanık emphasized that producing scientific knowledge is only part of the mission of researchers communicating it clearly and accurately to the public is equally crucial. Using examples from artificial intelligence, neuroscience, medical technologies, and space research, he demonstrated how scientific ideas can be translated into meaningful and accessible messages for broader audiences. The students showed strong interest in the interactive and real-world examples presented.
At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Uyanık was presented with flowers by former Minister of National Education, Prof. Dr. Ziya Selçuk, in recognition of his contribution to the program.
